In 1946, a young pharmacist named Dr. Hong-yen Hsu established the Sun Ten Pharmaceutical Company in Taiwan, a research facility devoted to the study of Chinese medicine. Even from the beginning, Sun Ten broke new ground in operating standards, earning the first GMP recognition award (Good Manufacturing Practice) ever awarded to a Chinese herbal medicine manufacturer.

This formula for excellence branched overseas when Dr. Hsu's two sons established Sun Ten Laboratories, in Irvine, California in 1991. It was at this landmark facility where Dr. Hsu, his sons and associates began marrying traditional botanical and herbal solutions with state-of-the-art technologies and production methods.
